Founded as a sole proprietorship business for selling used motor vehicles in Sri Lanka.

1977
Started importing used motor vehicles and distributing them island wide through a developed dealer network.

1986
Incorporation as a company with a limited liability and expanding business in the Kandy area under the name Indra Traders (Private) Limited.

1991
Incorporation of Indra Property Development (Pvt) Limited to construct a show room and an office premises at W.A.D Ramanayaka Mawatha, Colombo 2.

1998
Formation of Indra holdings (Pvt) Limited to expand the investment portfolio in real estates, secondary security markets and in other properties.

2001
Formation of Indra Fleet Management (Pvt) Limited to expand operations in involving in renting out vehicles and providing a company own transport service.

2002
Formation of Indra Motor Spares (Pvt) Limited to carry out business by importing and  distributing imported motor spares and other accessories. Formation of Indra Finance Limited to engage in providing finance and leasing facilities to customers.
